Why Takes Two?Selecting a DJ is never an easy task. You want to make sure you choose the right one. Since you only have one shot at it, it becomes a very important decision. MUSIC CAN MAKE OR BREAK YOUR DAY. We want to make you choice easy by pointing out what you should look for in a DJ company and why you should choose Takes Two DJ's. First off lets start out by explaining what does a DJ do?A DJ communicates and speaks directly to different generations of people by effectively providing custom music programming. He does this by reading a crowd to see what types of music will not only get the party started, but what will keep it moving all night long. Now that we know what a DJ does, let me share with you some of the most important questions you should ask.

Q: How important is experience? A: Experience is the most important quality that separates the good from the bad. An experienced DJ will have a vast knowledge of ALL types of music not just what's current or to his liking. He will have the experience of playing at ALL different types of events and be versatile enough to ensure the right type of music and atmosphere. He will also be able to incorporate suggestions or any last minute changes without missing a beat.

Q: How experienced are Takes Two entertainers? A: ALL of our entertainers have at least 10 years and up to as high as 17 years of experience.

Q: Will you play the types of music I like? A: Yes. Customizing your needs is essential. Your DJ will meet with you and go over all the types of music that you would like to be played as well as the types of music you don't want to be played. We feel the only way to make your day a success is by communication between the client and the DJ.

Q: What time do you arrive?A: We will arrive 1 hour before our scheduled start time to set up, test sound and be available to our clients for any last minutes requests or changes.Q: Will you coordinate with my other vendors?A: Yes. When we arrive we will meet with your maitre d' to discuss the day's events to plan our music around dinner and to ensure the day runs smoothly. We will also meet with your photographers and videographers to make sure that you are in the room when your favorite songs are played and to let them be aware of any special formalities that may occur.

Q: Will the DJ blast us out with the music? A: NO. Volume control is very important. With experience you realize that not everyone will dance and some guests want to sit and be social, so you create an atmosphere that will allow guests to talk without screaming. Also music will be softer during dinner and courses.

Q: How will I know who my DJ will be and will he be the same guy who shows up the day of my affair?A: When making an appointment you will meet with an entertainer who is available for your day. Upon selecting your DJ he will then be assigned to you and you only. He will be with you through the entire process and HE will be the DJ that shows up on your special day. We at Takes Two pride ourselves on honesty and sincerity.

Q: We want the DJ to get people up and dancing and fun, but we don't want him to over-entertain?A: This is a very common concern. Unfortunately some DJ's feel the need to be center of attention, or pull people out to the dance floor by singling them out. This will make your guests feel uncomfortable. We at Takes Two feel YOU should be the center of attention and no one should be singled out. We will get your party dancing with good music programming. If you desire motivation, we will motivate to the whole and not the individual. Then when the floor is packed, we take a step back and let you and your guests have fun.

Q: What if I don't want group dances?A: With Takes Two we make things very simple. If you don't want group dances, we don't do them. It's that simple. We create the type of atmosphere that YOU desire.

Q: How does our DJ get all of our final information, and do we have to contact him?A: We will contact you 15 days prior to your event to set up a final appointment. You will meet with your DJ to go over all the information that is relevant to your day: details like name pronunciation, first dance and parent dance songs, song selection, and introductions, etc. We will spend as long as it takes to make sure we have every last detail covered. Our goal is to put your mind at ease and to make sure your affair is one to remember. We hope you find this information helpful. As you can see, there are many questions that need to be answered when selecting a DJ. We realize that there are other questions that you may have, and we are more than happy to answer them all. We hope that we have made your decision an easy one, and we look forward to welcoming you as part of the Takes Two family.
